Candy Crush may have crushed nearly all of the games on Facebook but over 100,000 people around the world still play Farm Town! Yes, the game that hooked us for years is still being played by Farm Town Farmers around the world.
Okay. So I decided to open Farm Town, after nearly three years of not playing the game, just to check if it is still live. And yes, hundreds of apps may have vanished from Facebook but Farm Town is still here.
And yes, as expected, my entire farm is but a field of withered plants (gone to waste!). How's yours? Here is the first pic I saw when I opened Farm Town again today:
In case you've already forgotten, when your plants have withered, you have to clear the crops by either pulling out the withered plants yourself or by hiring someone from the marketplace. And oh, I didn't realize I already have three farms! Good thing I have a X9 plower, which means I can easily clear up the "gone to waste" plants and replace them with plowed fields 9 plots at a time!
After a few clicks, my farm has turned into plowed fields so I decided to plant Pineapple because, so far, this gives me the highest return and takes 3 days before it goes to waste.
This gets me excited again even if the game has not changed a lot since I left several years ago. Now, I dare you to play the game again and let me know how it feels this time. You can post your comment below!
Thanks for reading and please start farming again!

Do You Still Play Farmtown?
It so surprising to know that Farm Town is still up and running on Facebook. The game has been online since Facebook started introducing games and it is still running until now. Wow! So many games have come and go and Farm Town is among the few that have stayed.
But do you still play this game? Do you still play Farm Town just like the "good ol' days?"
I have to admit that while I was one of those who got hooked with Farm Town (which resulted to the creation of this blog), I rarely have time now to play the game. But it's good to know that there are people like you who remain loyal to their farms.
Please let me know why you still play farm town by posting your comments below.
Thanks and enjoy farming!

All crops in the farm, no decorations, trees and others!
I decided to keep my trees, flowers, garden decorations and animals to the storage bins and focus on transforming my entire farm into a sea of crops!
Yes, and I've planted the entire farm with pineapples that should give me enough cash to expand my farm. Oh well I need a lot of planting to do to get to the millions that the realtor's office is asking.
I have to admit that I've been absent in my farm for quite some time and I don't know why I'm getting addicted to the game again for the last couple of days.
That said, please expect more frequent post from this farm town farmer ;)
Any strategy to increase the coins without having to beg for work?

Candy Crush Cheat and Hack... anyone?
Got an email this morning from a Candy Crush player asking me if I know of any cheats or hacks for the game. The sender said he's been stuck on a certain level but do not want to use his credit card to purchase an escape route.
I believe Robert is not a regular reader of this blog. Because if he was, he would have known that I am very much against any form of cheats, hacks, or codes that would advance the level of a player in any of the games on Facebook. As I've often said, using cheats in games will only make the game boring because the challenges will be very easy to pass.
I have also been playing Candy Crush and I truly love the game, although it has not surpassed my love for Farm Town. The game reminds me of Bejewelled only that the creator of Candy Crush has made the game more challenging and fun to play.
Now for Robert, I'm sorry to break this to you but the maker of Candy Crush has invested tons of dollars to prevent hackers and cheaters to tweak the codes of the game. The game is a gold mine and so its creator will do everything it can to make sure that no cheats or hacks will be made for Candy Crush.
Now back to Farm Town, I just realized that it's been almost a year since I last played the game. Do you still play Farm Town? Would you mind sharing me your thoughts and opinion about the game? Email me at farmtownfarmer99@gmail.com.
Hello FarmTown Farmer. I know this email is off topic but I was just thinking maybe you know of cheats or hacks for Candy Crush. I used to play Farm Town during its early stages and I still love the game until now although Candy Crush is taking up more of my time. Please let me know if you can help me advance to the next level without having to purchase anything. I'll wait for your reply in your blog. Thanks, Robert.

FarmTown Question: How can I buy my second farm?
As usual, you need to go to the realtor office which is found under the map icon.
The XP values for each purchase:
The XP values for each purchase:
- FarmCash purchases give you +601 XP for each upgrade (apart from first purchase which gives you 1000 XP). If you purchase all the upgrades with FarmCash you can earn +4606 XP
- Purchases with coins give you +1000 XP for each upgrade possible for the third farm. As this gives you +1000 XP for each upgrade, when you purchase all the upgrades with coins you would earn 7000 XP.
- First purchase of Farm 3 : 30 Neighbours and 1,000,000c OR 40 FarmCash (whatever your level)
- Upgrade: 14x14 : 30 Neighbours and 100,000c OR 20 FarmCash (whatever your level)

Have you been to your farm lately? FarmTown on Facebook Update
First of all, let me offer a little prayer for our Farm Town neighbors in the Northeast as they struggle to keep safe while Super typhoon Sandy is in town. I hope you and your families will be safe. Now back to FarmTown.
I mean, I know I have not updated this blog for so long (if this was a FarmTown plant, you'd see the entire page rotting to the max). Well, it seems that the number of people playing farm town is slowly decreasing, what with all the new games being introduced on Facebook everday!
But I can tell you straight that I still have my farm and I have not deactivated FarmTown. It's still one of my favorite games on Facebook and I know, because you are reading this post, FarmTown still interests you.
Let's this post be a sign that I will, again, keep this blog updated with at least a post a day and I hope you will be with me by posting comments, asking questions, or liking us on Facebook.
See you in a while!

SimCity Social on Facebook... Let's be neighbors!
Finally, EA has brought SimCity Social on Facebook. Although I was really hoping they'd bring in Sim City to Facebook, I'm cool with the current game. A new game that you will surely fall in love with especially if you are a fan of Sim City or Sim Social.
Now, there are a lot of players who are asking me for cheats so they can get plenty of simoleons, unlimited energy, etc. etc. But I know you guys knew that I really don't give out cheats and I am not in favor of using cheats to advance your stages in any Facebook game.
Here's what we can do. Let's add a lot of neighbors whom we can ask for gifts, items, or hire as workers. That's secret behind having a great SimCity stats. Add a lot of neighbors who can be helpful in your future needs.
This is the reason why I created a new Facebook account exclusively for playing SimCity Social on Facebook. Add me on Facebook so we can be neighbors on the game and then let's grow our Cities together.

Facebook Farm Town Crops Gone to Waste
I didn't realize I had crops to harvest yesterday until I opened Farm Town today. And yes, all of them have gone to waste. The color of brown fields just pains my heart really because after plowing and planting, I will be clearing the fields again because of the rotten crops. It's such a waste of time.
Well, crops-gone-to-waste is a reality in Farm Town and we have to get used to that brown fields if we are not careful enough to take note of the harvesting date. For me, I was just really so occupied with work yesterday that I thought my crops won't be available for harvest until today. I forgot I planted carrots. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!
Will be cleaning up the brown fields later. I just feel a bit frustrated. But I need to continue farming because I only need one more level to get that much-coveted mansion. :)
Farm Town cheat or help... you decide
I received an email this morning from one of our blog readers. He informed me about a new technique (?) to easily and quickly gain experience points in Farm Town. Excerpt of the email below:
Of course, he emailed me the program that will be needed through RemoteKeys to make the technique (or cheat) work. Has any of you tried this technique? I'd love to try this in my farm but I am hesitant to download Remotekeys for fear that I might get a virus or some malicious codes.
If you've tried this technique and liked it, please share us your thoughts. Thanks and happy Sunday everyone!
Hi, I have a technique for gaining a lot of experience points in Farm Town. I use a program called RemoteKeys to automate the buying of hay bales, which have the highest point/coins ratio (1:10). Using it, I recorded a sequence for buying 12 bales of hay, then selling them. The script repeats 50 times, so it generates 3000 points each time it is run. I've used it to gain about 60,000 points.

The Sims Social on Facebook - Cheat and Hints
Hello Farm Town Farmers! It's heartwarming to note that a lot of us are still playing Farm Town even if there are already a lot of games being introduced on Facebook. Good thing too that Slashkey has also been introducing new features on Farm Town to keep us playing.
Anyway, another game is currently playing on Facebook. It's called The Sims Social. If you have played The Sims before, then this game is not new to you although there are plenty of additions like taking care of plants, planting and plowing, and few others.
Expectedly, a lot of players are digging up the web to look for Facebook Sims Social Cheats - how they can advance their character without actually playing the game, how they can earn Sims cash without sweating it out, or how they can upgrade their houses without actually performing tasks.
As what I've been saying before, looking for cheats for your Facebook game will surely defeat the thrill and excitement of playing. Why do we have to look for cheats when the purpose of our playing Facebook games is to have fun. I don't understand why a lot of players find it fun to play the game using cheats and codes.
Anyway, I have started playing Sims Social last week and I can say that it's fun although Farm Town remains to be my number one Facebook game.
Happy Farming everyone!

Facebook Farm Town Tip: How to Remove Spaces Between Fields
Hello there Farm Town Farmers. Thanks for the email messages some of you sent me. Anyway, I got an email from a Farm Town beginner asking me for ways to remove spaces between fields. I have tackled this topic before but since this blog was suspended and then reactivated by Blogger sans the original posts, I will discuss again this same topic.
I assume that the email sender refers to the space like the one in the picture below:
The "Preference" window will pop up and all you have to do is check the square button where it says "Remove Space Between Fields" then hit the green CHECK button
And that's it! The next time you place fields on your farm, there won't be any more spaces between them. If you want to put the spaces back, just uncheck the "Remove Space Between Fields" button.
Got any new Farm Town Tips? Share it here. Email me at farmtownfarmer99@gmail.com
I assume that the email sender refers to the space like the one in the picture below:
And she wants to it to look like one in the picture below:
It's actually not rocket science but honestly, it also took me several days to finally figure out how to do it when I was new in Farm Town.
To remove spaces between fields, simply click on the icon located on the upper right hand corner of your farm.
And that's it! The next time you place fields on your farm, there won't be any more spaces between them. If you want to put the spaces back, just uncheck the "Remove Space Between Fields" button.

Do you still play Farm Town?
It's so heart-warming to receive a lot of messages from Farmtown farmers who have been reading this blog. I'm happy to note that you are still there and you still trust this site for your Farmtown needs.
Anyway, I wonder if you still play FarmTown with all the new farm games now up on Facebook. Does it still appeal you to check your farms regularly just like what you've done when FT was first introduced? Have you found some new tricks and tips for new players?
For just about anything, email me at farmtownfarmer99@gmail.com

Farmtown Farmer's Blog back online
Dear FarmTown Farmers,
For nearly six months, I fought hard to reinstate this blog (farmtownfarmer.blogspot.com) but didn't get any response from blogger. As you noticed, this blog was suspended for alleged spamming activities when all I did was to let visitors read various tips and articles about how to play Farm Town on Facebook.
For nearly six months, I cried at night, didn't sleep well, played Farm Town but ended up just staring at the field. Farmtownfarmer.blogspot.com had been a community of people who love to play the game. With more than 350 readers of the blog, I toiled hard to provide you with only the most accurate tips, cheats, and updates about farmtown.
As a consolation, blogger deleted farmtownfarmer.blogspot.com and made it available back for registration. Good thing I noticed it and immediately re-registered the blog.
This is the reason why we are back online. And i hope I can still get the same passion, the same energy, and the same excitement in regularly updating this website following the death of the old site.
I hope you will continue to read this blog.
